Back from the Hall and Oates Concert from last Saturday. It was a rockin’ good time…fun music, many dancing women at the front of the stage, bringing back lots of good memories.
It was also poignant in a few ways. If you’ve been following any of the recent videos by Bonnie Volkman-Knill or me, you know a theme has been cleaning out the clutter so we can move on with new energy to new understandings and new manifestations.
We were blessed with second row center seats, so we got to see them up close. Darryl Hall had the same leather jacket and long blonde hair that were his trademarks all the way back to the 1970’s. John Oates still had the same jet black perm that makes him easy to spot. In one sense, they looked exactly the same. Looking up close at their faces, they were obviously not the young men they were back in the days of “Sara Smile” or “Private Eyes.”
None of that matters. They put on a fantastic show. Musically they haven’t lose a thing and their appearance is none of my business. God bless them…they get to dress however they want. No one in the audience seemed to mind, myself included.
So let’s make this something about you and me. (wink)
How much of the “sameness” are you bringing to new situations in your life? How many of the habits, patterns, and conditioned responses from the past are you holding onto?
Are you conducting your life with the intention of getting approval from other people? Do you want to please them by your appearance, choices and ways of living more than you want to do what feels good and IS good for you?
In so many moments we have the opportunity to clear out our clutter. Past experiences, past choices, past expectations of what you deserve…these are things you can wash off your consciousness whenever you’re ready.
Simple: yes. Easy, maybe not so much.
It requires a commitment. It requires being willing to see yourself differently…because you value yourself differently.
It requires the dicscipline of creating new thought forms and habits.
Look at what you’re putting out…literally, look at what you are wearing.
Look at what you have permitted. It’s OK. Honor whatever you see. It got you this far…perhaps ready to make some changes.
Clean out the clutter of misspent emotions. Clean out the clutter of beating yourself up for mistakes. We all make them.
And clean out the clutter of being a slave to repeating them.
Those patterns of negativity: Watch out boy, they’ll chew you up. They’re a Maneater! (Had to say it)
Your Pal,
Larry

I get it. We should keep “Hall” that is positive in our lives, and
throw “Oates” the bad things.
